Neuromuscular therapy (NMT), also called trigger point or myofascial release utilizes moderate pressure applied to areas of muscular tension or strain in order to release these areas and bring the central nervous system into balance. NMT can effectively address a wide range of issues including soreness and pain, limited range of motion, nerve compression and postural issues.
Swedish Massage is a relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity and greater flexibility.
Orthopedic massage focusses on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. It can include releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and decompressing rigid joints. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being.
Polarity therapy focuses on the energy fields of the body. Following the integrative energy-based therapeutic methods of Dr. Randolph Stone, it addresses the interdependence of body, mind, and spirit. It consists of making gentle contact with the body in order to restore physical and energetic balance.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of relaxing and/or therapeutic massage in which heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. The stones are also used to work specific areas of tension and melt tight muscles. The stones release muslce tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than a traditional massage. The overall experience is deeply relaxing, extremely nurturing, and fully rejuvenating.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and be sure to drink plenty of water afterward. Staying hydrated will aid the flushing and removal of toxins released during the session.
